The Early Mods of Dragon Age
A new era of modifications have begun, heralded by the launch of the Dragon Age: Origins Toolset. Young naives have begun to wield this weapons power, but it's a long journey still to mastery - all the same many minor creations are filling the FilePlanet file hoard. Check for links to access these along with the magical Toolset below.

Mod of the Month - Dead Before Dawn
Last month being Halloween, it seems only fitting to give "Mod of the Month" of October to Left 4 Dead modification Dead Before Dawn. Based on the 2004 remake of the George A. Romero's classic movie, it includes many locations you might recognize - most notable among them though is The Crossroads Mall where you spend a lot of your time in later levels slaughtering endless amounts zombie hoards.
This campaign includes 5 maps, and I'd be remiss if I didn't caution the player about to download that the finale battle isn't yet implemented into the mod. Yes, it's still in Beta. But what a glorious beta it is, with hundreds of new props, some new music, a throwable toilet, and even voice-overs - it makes this one of the best free pieces of downloadable content for Left 4 Dead available to us thus far.

Great work Dead Before Dawn team, we are all waiting for your Final level - it's gota be a doozy. Check out our links below for the download of this awesome modification and other free Left 4 Dead content available on FilePlanet...

7 Unluckiest Gaming Moments
It's Friday the 13th, the unluckiest day of the year - and bane to black cats and mirrors everywhere. So knock on wood and grab your lucky rabbit's foot as we delve into some recent (and not so recent) unluckiest moments in the gaming industry.
#7 - Command & Conquer 4 Team Fired.

I know it's not proper to talk about somebody as if their dead when they aren't, but from recent stories and sources it sounds like EA has laid off 1500 people - including the C&C 4 team. Talk about putting an onus on the game before it even launches, I wonder if their INSERTING bugs at this point to stick around. [Source: Ve3d]
#6 - Formating as a Game Feature.

Talk about unlucky, a legacy EVE Online Trinity patch once deleted your boot.ini file on accident. And the particularly spiteful Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth would take your systems files with it if you decided to uninstall the game. And let's not even talk about those "Flash" game e-mail attachments your Mom installs.
#5 - Xbox Mod? That's a banning.

Who would have thought, gamers like to tinker with things. Sucks for you if you're one of those 600,000 gamers who modded their console and just got banned from Xbox Live - they will never let you online again. You can try to scam Craigslist folks or use it as a lovely flowerpot? It was heading to red-ring ville anyway. [Source: Ve3d]
#4 - Left4Dead v1.5!

We've played the demo. Really Valve? This is supposed to be a sequel? You can't just swap some character models and add some new maps and call that a new game. That's what's known as a modification, if we want those we can download them for free. I'd say the person buying L4D2 expecting a new game, very unlucky indeed.
#3 - World of Warcraft Clones.

I feel bad for companies without any originality, but WoW clones really get the worst of it. How can all of them NOT crash and burn, when you already have a superior product on the market? I suppose by giving it away for free, but good luck with that. Here is a novel concept, have a vision that hasn't been done 3 million times. Thanks!
#2 - Duke Nukem For-Never.

Allow me to beat a dead, maggot-eaten corpse a few more times here. Really Duke Nukem Forever team, you haven't done squat for years? Well color me SHOCKED! Somebody over there broken a few thousand mirrors to cause the bad luck us gamers recieved, missing out on a potential blockbuster of kick-ass and bubble gum.
#1 - Modern Warfare 2, PC Hate.

Unlucky for the Call of Duty lovers out there, news shot from every part of the internet that Infinity Ward would not feature dedicated servers or PC modification tools. Combine this with the fact they are locking the title down to Steam and you can only wonder - where the hell did they find a ladder that big to walk under? [Source: Ve3d]
